Mackinac Island Elopement Wedding
Imagine being transported back in time, back to when the main ways of travel are by horse, bicycle, or foot. Allie & Andrew got to experience that by eloping on Mackinac Island, where there are no cars at all, but horse-drawn carriages!
Learning about how they met was really cool. Allie lived in Phoenix, Arizona and Andrew in a small town in Michigan. They met by chance on a Facebook group while Andrew was planning a trip to Arizona and Allie messaged him with suggestions of her favorite spots to visit. After talking to each other they were smitten! Fast forward a year and half, and Allie moved to Michigan, they bought a house together, and they realized they didn’t want to wait to get married, so they got in contact with us!
Their vision for the day was intimate, romantic, simple, and zero stress. They also wanted to focus on the true beauty that the island offers: wooded forests, rocky cliffs, and water views as far as you can see! Allie & Andrew’s elopement was so intimate and meaningful. Their good friend officiated their lakeside ceremony, and to make it even more special, they washed each other’s feet with water right from Lake Huron, an act of sacrificial love. Their vows were heart-felt and there were even a few tears shed!
We had the incredible opportunity to capture every moment of their special day through both photographs and film. The visual storytelling of Allie & Andrew’s elopement adds an extra layer of depth to the beautiful narrative of their love. After making their marriage official, we explored the island, stopping at Arch Rock along the way, an iconic location on the island. It was a really meaningful day that spoke to who Allie & Andrew are as a couple. Take a look at the video and photographs from their elopement below!
